What People Are Saying
Again and again, families tell us they experienced peace, dignity, and mercy in moments that mattered most. Read their words below:
My birth did not go the way I’d wanted and yet I felt so at peace by the end of it because I felt sure that I had done the best I could do and Rachel helped me navigate all the ups and downs. She was so good about reminding me of my options at the hospital so that I didn’t get pressured into something I didn’t have to do. This was important to me because it can often be overwhelming when you are at the end of your pregnancy, in labor or consulting with professionals to advocate for your own wishes where possible.
Rachel so tenderly and prayerfully supported me through disappointments, pain and hard decisions. I would highly recommend her a thousand times over! Thank you, Rachel!
Realizing I am nearing the end of my journey, here on earth, I have turned to end-of-life doula, Nicholas Bailey, for guidance.
He has accompanied me to the funeral home to make prearrangements for the funeral of both my daughter and me. I have found him to be knowledgeable, professional, and compassionate. Though his services don’t eliminate the wisdom in seeking the advice of and eldercare attorney, he is extremely helpful in suggesting other end-of-life preparations.
I find peace knowing Nicholas will be there to accompany me on the last part of my journey
During my pregnancy, Doula Rachel and I kept in touch through my preferred method of communication, texting. She was always prompt and friendly during our conversations. My pregnancy brain highly appreciated this because I could always reference back to our conversation, especially for meeting times and locations that we had decided upon! She always had great recommendations for meeting locations or offered to even meet me at my home if needed. She always kept to our plans and arrived on time. She even helped me keep an eye on my other children during our meetings while we were busy talking!
During labor Mrs. Rachel was a Godsent. She advocated for me when I was too nervous to speak up. She and I had previously discussed what I wanted and did not want during my hospital stay so she was able to help speak on my behalf. I’m a very shy and timid person, especially around intimidating healthcare workers, but Mrs. Rachel was wonderful at reading my body language and face to recognize when I really needed her to step in and help advocate for myself. She always made sure I was as comfortable as possible too! She shared knowledge about resources the hospital had available to help me during labor that I would not have known about if she had not been with me. She reached out to nurses during my hospital stay for comfort items such as birthing balls, laboring shower, and more! She even brought tools from her organization to help assist me too, such as massaging tools and learned techniques. She happily stayed with me the entire time I needed her! She made sure I was as comfortable as possible every step of my journey! I’m thoroughly impressed with the care and attention to detail that Mrs. Rachel offers and highly recommend her for everyone during their pregnancy! Thank you Mrs. Rachel for all your help!
Rachel far exceeded my expectations. I was unsure of how specifically a doula would impact my labor experience, but she became an integral part of both my prenatal and postnatal care, and the comfort of her presence and her intimate knowledge of birth proved absolutely essential to the execution of my goals.
If you’re on the fence about whether or not you want a doula at your birth, like I was, keep in mind that you never know precisely what’s going to happen at a birth. A doula is trained to help you go with the flow of your birth experience and get the help that you need even when/if the unexpected happens. The labor process usually takes some time, too, unless you’re one to have insanely fast births. For a while, since I had an epidural, Rachel, my husband, and I were just in the room hanging out. Honestly, the quiet companionship was a highlight for me, too!
